On Sunday 8 March 2026 - 9 am to 5 pm a special full day International Women’s Day event was held at bruny NORTH Bruny Island Lunawanna alonnah, Tasmania, Australia.

Celebrated Australian vocalist and wellness advocate Karen Knowles invited guests to HONOUR, a carefully curated one day gathering at Bruny NORTH / Bruny Wild Café overlooking the waters of D’Entrecasteaux Channel on North Bruny Island, Tasmania.

THE HONOUR EXPERIENCE is an invitation to slow down, soften and reconnect with creativity, community and the natural world.

On International Womens Day Karen Knowles curated a day to honour the feminine in all of us. HONOUR explores the feminine qualities that enrich human experience, including empathy, creativity, resilience, intuition, sensitivity, patience and strength. These qualities live within women and men alike. Throughout the day, guests were invited to breathe, notice more deeply, listen more fully and be renewed by the beauty and sense of belonging carefully designed and woven with support of bruny NORTH embracing the beauty that defines Bruny Island / Lunawanna-alonnah.

Grounded in Country and guided by community

The day opened with a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country by respected local elders Auntie Jan and Auntie Bobbie, offering a moment of grounding, reflection and connection to land. After morning tea participants were led through a guided beach walk, sharing stories of the island’s landscapes, history and ecosystems, supporting a deeper awareness of place and its quiet wisdom. Bruny Wild Café hosted a special International Women’s Day lunch, shared among local flowers and open conversation with community members, visitors and the wider bruny NORTH network followed by a wonderful concert with Karen and her accompanist.
